How we work

Fully Hosted Flight Data Analysis Service

We offer a secure and reliable platform where you can upload your flight data. Our analysts perform in-depth analysis and generate detailed periodical reports, usually monthly or quarterly, which are then returned to you for internal distribution as you see fit. This service ensures convenience and ease of use, allowing you to access valuable insights and take necessary action.

  • We utilise the highly effective Aerobytes FDM™ analysis software and Appareo’s ALERTS software.
  • You will have 24/7 access to your data on our server and will receive one hour of free training in the use of the analysis software, so that your nominated gatekeeper(s) can login and investigate any flights or events at a time that suits them.  Our dedicated team are on hand should you require any support.
  • We have expertise in monitoring a wide range of aircraft, including H225 (EC225, AS332L1/L2), EC155 (AS365N3), AW109, AW139, AW169, AW189, H135, H145, H175, S76, S92 and B412SP.
Our processes

The HFDM Cycle Process

  • Data is downloaded from the aircraft and uploaded to the operator’s avionics ground station, which converts the files where required, before the files are sent to our server via our Helinalysis Data Manager software or FTP service
  • That data is automatically picked up by the Aerobytes FDM™ software and any flights are analysed.
  • Our analysts will verify and validate any events triggered and notify your gatekeeper(s) of any significant exceedances via email, directly from the software, within 24hours of data being uploaded to our server, enabling crew contacts to be as efficient as possible.
  • Our team will collate all flights and events from the reporting period and prepare a report comparing the results to the previous reporting period, specifically looking for any emerging trends.
  • We will work with you to optimise your event set to suit your operational needs, utilising our experience in other similar outfits across the globe.
  • HFDM is a constantly evolving process, and we are here to assist you in your journey to a safer and more efficient helicopter operation – we can refine your event set to suit your operation, as your HFDM program matures.

How HDFM works

Helicopter Flight Data Monitoring Services

Helicopter Flight Data Monitoring (HFDM) services involve the continuous monitoring, recording, and analysis of helicopter flight data to enhance safety and operational efficiency. Here’s how it works:

  • Aircraft sensors produce streamed data points which are captured on recording media.

  • Flight recorders, or quick access recorders store the data, ready for uploading.

  • Our data management software transforms the data and cleans the SD card ready for the next flight, whilst backing up the data on your local computer.

  • Client specific algorithms are used to process the data and generate events for trends analysis.

  • Once validated high severity events are reported immediately and others logged for trends analysis.

  • Periodical reports are collated and issued to your point of contact(s), detailing any emerging trends and the specifics of those which may be of immediate interest.
Our Mission

Committed to our core principles and values.

Our mission is to help operators achieve greater flight safety standards, whilst making their operations more efficient. We work with you to create a bespoke set of event algorithms to suit your operation and can adjust these as often as required, helping you stay abreast of current procedures and safety standards e.g. IOGP. We understand the challenges involved in establishing and running an HFDM program, which is why we take pride in alleviating your stress and concerns.

  • With our support, you can have the utmost confidence in your HFDM program’s effectiveness and reliability.
  • We provide the necessary guidance and expertise to help you meet stringent flight protocols and safety standards.
  • By partnering with us, you can optimise your flight data monitoring, enhancing the safety and efficiency of your helicopter operations.
